‘Ek thi Daayan’
'DAAYAN-AMIC' PERFORMANCES AND IMAGINATION!
INTRODUCTION-
Hi there! I am Sahil Purswani.I am 16.You perhaps might think that a 16 years old boy has no taste rather has hardly any knowledge about judging a film. Well, I believe that age does not matter. I am not being a CRITIC just sharing my views like a normal viewer about the film EK THI DAAYAN globally.
OVERVIEW-
Firstly, the movie was promoted by launching two trailers. Both the trailers were quite promising. Was it the same while watching the movie? Let’s find out! Ek thi Daayan has a superb first half. The inception of the movie was so mesmerizing. The first half revolves around the flash back. The child artists don’t let us down. The second half for me was a bit prolonged. Known for the genre: Thriller; Ek thi Daayan has got an appalling suspense. But at times, I could predict what would happen next.
1. WHAT’S GOOD?
As I mentioned, the first half is just impeccable!, Indubitably, The performances by Emraan Hashmi, Konkana Sen Sharma, Huma Qureshi and Kalki Koechlin are meritorious. Emraan’s magical performance is congruent to that of his profession in the movie. If I had to choose the execution of the character between the three female actors doubtlessly I would pick KONKANA! I believe she deserves an award! The music is soothing. Songs like ‘Yaaram’ and ‘Kaali Kaali’ deserve a special mention. Additionally, the creative imagination and the uncanny story is noteworthy. The twists and turns are interesting. This movie is likable because it is original and moreover has balanced the essence of horror and thrill.
2. WHAT’S NOT GOOD?
Well, we get eager to see the movie after the interval. Unfortunately, it does not live up to our expectations. (Maybe because our expectations reach the skies) I can’t blame the first half for any reason nor can I blame the entire second half but it gets confusing after kalki’s appearance. After the suspense was uncovered and after some fanciful twists the movie literally went off track. This sounds a bit strange but the movie lost its track when it was going to conclude. In the end it’s like a chase between the cat and the mouse. Happy ending? Ok… Never mind, but the end could have been so much better. I felt that the ending was abrupt.
